Gordon seems secure

Word from the meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party suggests that the rebelion against the Prime Minister is coming to nothing.

Just the bitter and marginalized Charles Clarke has called for him to go.

Flint, Purnell and Blears do not appear to enjoy support, and nobody has put up alternatives. There is no polling evidence that a new leader would improve Labour’s chances.

Now Gordon Brown must shape a debate around policy.
